Barton's annual Christmas Market took place today.  The children have made products ranging from edible goodies to Christmas decorations to sell at the market. The children had a lovely time going around with friends and buying presents to take home.  Any profits the children have made will be for them to decide how to spend this year.   

The children had a fantastic time at the Canterbury Marlowe Theatre Pantomime today! We even had some of our pupils chosen to participate in the show!  

We had a truly SPOTACULAR day at Barton today whilst raising money for Children In Need. Thank you to anyone who donated to this worthwhile cause.  

Odd Socks Day has started antibullying week at Barton. During Odd Socks Day, we wear odd socks as a symbol of uniqueness and to promote acceptance of diversity. Odd Socks Day is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about important social issues, including bullying and prejudice.   Here are some examples of the fantastic Odd Socks worn at Barton today!

Children from Shatterlocks and Barton who achieved 100% attendance in Term 1 went on the attendance reward. The children walked to CineWorld and watched a film with popcorn and a drink. The children were brilliantly behaved and had a lot of fun!  

Barton has a new regular newsletter all about reading! At Barton we are passionate about supporting children in developing a love of reading.  Our aim with the new Reading Newsletter is to share many of the fun things about reading that goes on in school. We will also share some book recommendations from our Reading Champions for everyone to enjoy!   These will be posted on the 'My Child At School' app, and also in the 'Letters Home' section of the school wehsite which you can find under the tab for News and Events.  

Barton Junior School would like to welcome Year 2 children and their parents to come and visit our school. Please arrive between 3:30-4:30 on the 15th November to be welcomed by our Year 6 House Captains. No booking required!   

Footballers from Barton Junior School played against Green Park Primary on Thursday 5th October and against Charlton Primary on Friday 6th October. Both teams won their respective matches and showed excellent team work as well as respect for everyone on the pitch.   We look forwards to welcoming Sandown Primary for the next home match on Thursday 12th October.
